Celebrate the harvest at BNHV!

 

Our Harvest Festival is back! Volunteers help with all aspects of the event, from food service, to admissions, to contest registrations.

All volunteers will be given instructions and/or training in their station prior to the event. Please note, BNHV makes every effort to place volunteers in their selected areas, but duties may change as needed. Volunteers will receive emailed confirmation of their shift and duties prior to the event.

 

Shift Details

Volunteers can choose either the Morning Shift (9 AM - 12:30 PM) or Afternoon Shift (12:30 PM - 4 PM).

Additional volunteers needed on Friday, September 24th for food preparation from 2 PM - 4 PM.

 

Volunteer Duties

Admissions

Admissions volunteers scan tickets, hand out maps, and help orient visitors to BNHV. Volunteers should be comfortable with technology and talking to large numbers of people.

Volunteers Needed: 1 per shift

 

Food Service

Food Service volunteers help make roasted corn on our grill, pour cider for visitors, and whatever else is needed in our Dining Area. Volunteers will be given instruction on all areas of food preparation prior to the event.

Volunteers Needed: 4 per shift

 

Ticket Sales

Ticket sales volunteers sell tickets for food and hayride purchases throughout the event. Volunteers must be comfortable with technology and have experience with money handling. Volunteers will be given training on our POS system prior to the event.

Volunteers Needed: 3 per shift

 

Museum Store

Museum Store volunteers assist staff with merchandise sales, including bagging, display, and answering questions. Volunteers must be able to be on their feet for the entirety of their shift.

Contest Registrations

Contest Registration volunteers take registrations for our pie eating and corn shucking contests. Volunteers must be comfortable sitting for long periods of time, 

Volunteers Needed: 2 per shift

 

Event Guardian

Event Guardians help to ensure our event runs smoothly. They monitor the Dining Area, Farmstead, Historic Village, and Activity Areas. They also take tickets for food and hayride purchases. Volunteers must be able to stand/walk for their entire shift, and able to answer questions from visitors.

Volunteers Needed: 8 per shift

 

Food Preparation (Friday Only)

Food Preparation volunteers assist BNHV staff in creating caramel apples and preparing ears of corn for roasting. All volunteers will be given training on health and safety procedures.
